This Pale Green Morning is a slow and mesmerizing track taken from Digits "Lost Dream EP" which is a 5-track little masterpiece. Released in April, i've just discovered it this weekend, but have been playing it every night of the week several times in a row. This track is my favourite, but i don't really listen to just one track, the whole 22-minutes EP is played over and over again this morning while reading the paper and drinking some coffee. Check out his website for the entire album, which you can download for free, an absolute bargain & worth the listen.
A Swedish duo by the name of I Break Horses is releasing their debut album "Heart" next week and their 2nd single Winter Beats is a great track with a stylish black-and-white videoclip. It's hypnotising synths, dreamy vocals and breaking beats that make me long for the winter. Because i'm certain (although it may also be of the video, even though there's hardly any winter in it) this will sound even better when snow has covered the world with it's beautiful white blanket. Even in Summer a great track though. Hope they can ship the album from Sweden to Holland, would be ace!
CANT is Chris Taylor's solo-project. Chris Taylor may or may not be known as part of Grizzly Bear and he is releasing is debut solo-album the end of September. Is this something to look forward to? Based on the only track i've heard so far: YES! Believe is a slow and smooth track that is simply irresistible, it has an 80s-feel, but in a good way. In a J Viewz-way, if i had to make any comparison. But f*ck comparing, this is just a fantastic track.
This is such a great track and gets better everytime i hear it. Nerves Junior has made a dark, synthy obscure track that intrigues from the very 1st second and mesmerizes more and more as the song evolves untill it eventually explodes near the ending. It is one of the best twists in a song i've heard all year and this track is among the best in months. I've been listening to it for over 3 hours now and still can't get enough. Phenomenal!
This is already a few months old, but i still play it and never shared it. Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio) teams up with No Surrender, a Brooklyn based collective that makes music easily compared with TV On The Radio. Which makes this collaboration pretty logical, but No Surrender has more to it than just this track, visit their website to hear the entire album on which the TVOTR-influence is still within range, but No Surrender also gets more of a profile for themselves. I'm still exploring the album, but i might even consider listening to it more than TVOTR's Nine Types Of Light..
Another Monday, Another Kick-Off. This brand new track by Clock Opera is set to be released October 3rd, but can already be enjoyed via their soundcloud. It starts off nice and easy, but builts up the pace as it goes along. A perfect Monday morning song, as this is basically how Mondays work, we start off eeeeeaaaaaazzzzyyyy and slowly get back into the rhythm of the week. Have a good one!
Nice hiphop-mixtape from unknown rapper Kuhlamity. This 9-track mixtape is a great exhibition of his skills, which are undoubtfully there. He's working on an album, with hopefully a little more consistency, but as this is a mixtape it makes sense that it's going in all directions. Most of the tracks are really good with Legacy (which you can hear above) and My Relation as absolute highlights. Click the pic to download the entire mixtape for free & show Kuhlamity some love through Facebook, he deserves it!
With all that rain falling this week a mixtape with a title like Sunbath 2011 is a little out of place, but it's all about the music anywayz, isn't it? Fresh Company & Gossé de Skater are responsible for this great Summer mixtape, which they describe themselves in just 1 line: Expect some 60s and 70s rock, some smoothness, even some bossa nova, but mainly some summer vibes.
Couldn't find a tracklist, but most tracks are easy to reckonize, and the ones i didn't know fit in perfect with this sweet party collection. In 2 days it's time for the biggest party of my city, good Summer weather would be very welcome, but with this mixtape the vibe is certified! Have a good weekend, dance to 65mins of great tunes!
Trotting Bear is a folk-band from St. Louis. They play soft, silent tunes with whispering vocals, acoustic guitars and they ooze relaxation. Imagine a warm, slow day of doing absolutely nothing. All you might need is a cold bottle of water, a pack of cigarettes and the perfect soundtrack played to you by this band. You can download this 9-track EP for free from their bandcamp and the next hot Summer day you should give this idea a try. I'm sure it'll be nothing less than perfect, as it's one of the finest albums i have heard in a while. This is definately the next addition to the 2011-Favourites list!

Plug in Baby! is a music blog dedicated to sharing beautiful music. I don't care about styles or hypes; if it's good, i'll share it. Words are
scarce, I prefer to let the fine tunes speak for themselves. Long reviews about great albums are rare, but not impossible.
